About moflo

A brief introduction to the website by Dom Brucciani, Editor of the moflo review.

This site was established to act as a reference point for the english-speaking artistic and student community in Florence. The site allows anyone to contribute to any page, its content dynamically evolving as people express themselves through writing, photography and art, using the space to tell people about what is going on in the cultural and social life of the city. In this way it is a community-driven project, allowing you to hear first hand from the people who, like you, are making their way and doing their thing here in Florence.

So we aim to give you access to Florence in a totally new way. There is room for every viewpoint, every piece of news and event in the city. Why always go to the same old places, see the same old things? Through moflo you can be introduced to alternative music scenes, small exhibitions and shows, aperitivi, parties, sporting activities...if it's in Florence, it has a place on moflo.

What this comes down to is a website made up of seven distinct categories: the calendar lists events of all kinds, the forums allow you to ask and answer questions or chat with people, the magazine is there for any kind of writing, the gallery for images and the listings pages make it easier for you to take care of some of the more practical things.

This is a young project, but participation is growing all the time and we hope that you find something useful or at least entertaining on moflo. Obiously the more people who get involved, the more worthwhile the whole thing, so do us a favour and spread the word!

While the site is open space for you to take from or add to as you please, we're also keen to encourage people to come and work with us to provide consistent, interesting content for the site. We're always looking for enthusiastic writers, photographers and designers. We can give you experience working in a structured editorial environment to produce articles, creative writing and photo \ graphic journalism. If you are keen on taking on a journalism internship with moflo – even on the most informal basis – contact us at the details at the bottom of the webpage.
