Your options for travelling around Florence to see the sights are various. You can walk (yawn). You can get on an open-top tour bus like in London (except, unlike in London, a double-decker bus can only actually access about 25% of the city so you just end up seeing the main roads). You can rent one of those segway things (and be subjected to the ridicule you deserve as you look like you have travelled back in time from a really unimpressive and lazy future). You can get pulled around by a horse and cart (not even going to bother pointing out what's wrong with that).

You rent your vehicle and drive as part of a convoy as the tour guide Sophie and fiancée Alex take you on a 1hr+ drive around the Oltrarno, Piazzale, and even as far as Santa Margherita a Montici for some spectacular views of the city. It is difficult to explain the outpouring of goodwill that you experience from one and all as the collection of the world's most adorable cars chugs along its route. People wave and cheer, you honk your horn, everyone smiles - its enough to make your heart melt.
