I heard there is a card you can purchase that allows you to get into state museum for free once you get it. What is the name of the card, how much is it and where can I find it?

Yes - it is the Uffizi card - free entrance to all state museums for one year. If you are under 26 it costs 40 E and over 26 60E - great deal as in the next few months all entries are over 10E due to exhibitions.
