Telecom Nightmare

Ordered Telecom's Alice service a while back. Before I knew they were terrible. Asked for the adsl 24 hour service, (30 a month unlimited connection) It's always on! (Can't live without my internet.) Everything was working fine for 5 months or so till last week when I received a bill for the last two months; 1,600 euros compared to the usual 45 a month. I called technical support and learned that my service had been changed from the never ending internet to internet payed for by the minute. Now I've been asked to pay this huge bill or Telecom will take legal action. If anyone has some advice, let me know.

Unfortunately it is a common story with Telecom. They're famous for being useless. Don't worry about them taking immediate legal action, but do get an Italian person (anyone will do) to write a letter for you. Most people will have written at least one such letter to Telecom in their lives so it won't be a big ask.

That sucks. Maybe you should try to find a lawyer although I'm not sure how hard it is to find one here. -- Good luck.

You do not need a lawyer - do not pay the portion you feel is unjust . I had a similar thing happen where my internet connection was dialing a 999 number over and over again - racking up a huge bill. A letter must be faxed and sent by registerd mail to Telecom di Merda detailing this. Threaten to take out your phone - these people are not to be dealt with kindly!! They are the keystone cops of telecommunications. By the way - the other providers are just as bad!!
