Jul 14Jul 26 The SACI Gallery (Via Sant’Antonino, 11, Firenze) is proud to present the photographic exhibition Mirror by florentine photographer GIOVANNI PRESUTTI. The exhibition will display black and white photographs taken from the series Mirror together with a number of color prints in large format. The artist himself explains his work like an exploration of reflections that bounce off the subject and onto the spectator. In a text written by photographer Giorgia Fiorio, The mirror of his images is the reflection of the soul of his subjects, sometimes of their obsessions and, at the same time, it’s the mirror continuously reversed, of the relationships that are established between subject and artist, between those of us who are observing and the subject, between the artist and us… in a continuous bouncing off into infinity. Presutti (1965) was born and lives in Florence. Since 2005 he has participated in several exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He has won awards including most recently: “Premio Firenze” XXV Edizione 2007 – Section: digital/multimedia/photography – 1st prize “Fiorino D’oro” and the “Premio Italia per le Arti Visive”, XXIII edition 2008. His new book Mirror: Giovanni Presutti (texts by Gigliola Foschi and Giorgia Fiorio, Polyrama Edizioni, 2008) will be presented at the SACI Gallery where many of the works in from the book will be exhibited.
